 About the Artist
Pure, innate musical talent and the solid, prolific performance experience that comes from touring and recording with world-renowned artists combine to make Jack Gavin a prized drummer in today's music industry.

From 1985 to 1999, Jack was best known for his high-energy performances as the drummer for the legendary Charlie Daniels Band. He then became the band leader and drummer for Tracy Lawrence from 1999 to 2002. In 2003 he began playing drums for Tanya Tucker. Whether he's putting the groove into a live show, a music video, a CD or recording, Jack ignites his listeners with drumming that grabs and excites, mellows and moves or simply inspires.

Jack's versatility and excellent classical music training ground him with tremendous musical discipline and range of performance. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Kent State University, where he earned a bachelor of music/percussion degree in 1983. Early years of training in the classical and jazz music fields provided this award-winning musician with valuable experience performing as a percussionist for various philharmonic orchestras, symphonies and ensembles.

Jack has also toured with country artist Mel McDaniel for a year, and has performed with the Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker, Willie Nelson, Ted Nugent, Travis Tritt and John Kay of Steppenwolf. For many years, Modern Drummer magazine has acknowledged Jack as being one of the top five drummers in the country music industry.

Those who have trained and performed with Jack will attest to his enthusiastic, warm, honest and professional character. His on-stage presence is dynamic, leaving the audience with no doubts that he loves what he's doing. Truly a "musician's musician", Jack's great dedication to and caring for his colleagues is seen by those who know him as exemplary in today's music industry.
