Gretsch® Drums Announces Winner of Exclusive Zac Brown Band Autographed Drum Set
August 29, 2012
BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (August 29, 2012) — Gretsch Drums is proud to announce that Tim Hendrix of Blue Eye, Mo. was selected as the winner of the Gretsch ’57 Renown Giveaway. The prize was a five-piece set of Gretsch ’57 Renown drums, featuring a snare drum signed by members of the chart-topping country act, the Zac Brown Band. The contest ran from June 1 to June 30 and received thousands of entries from across the country.
The contest win comes as a welcome ray of light for Tim and his family. A career firefighter, Hendrix has been helping his five-year-old son Cooper battle a rare kidney condition that left him needing a transplant. Fortunately, Tim’s wife Gillian was able to donate one of her kidneys to Cooper.
With considerable waiting time at the hospital, Tim filled the downtime by searching online for drums for his fire department’s pipe and drum band. Eventually, his search led him to the Gretsch Drums website, where he submitted his entry to win a Gretsch ’57 Renown drum set.
“Gretsch drums are known for their quality,” said Tim. “You can instantly tell this set lives up to that reputation.”
Within weeks, Cooper was off to a healthy recovery, and Tim was the owner of his very own Gretsch ’57 Renown kit signed by the Zac Brown Band.
“I couldn't unpack it fast enough,” said Hendrix.
