Gretsch® Renown™ Purewood Limited Series Drums in American Hickory Explode With Power and Clarity
July 23, 2012
Gretsch Drums now offers the latest in its Renown Purewood Limited Series that features 100 percent American hickory. A very hard and shock-resistant wood and more dense than maple, American hickory creates a sound that has substantial low end, while maintaining a solid, controlled tone. Each drum is finished in a finely-applied gloss lacquer to accentuate the distinct grain pattern of the wood. Gretsch Renown Purewood Hickory drum sets are available in a five-piece shell pack (MSRP $3,080.99) and a six-piece shell pack (MSRP $3,999.99.)
“When we first heard the early samples of these American hickory drums, we knew they were incredible,” said John Palmer, Director of Product for Gretsch Drums. “The American Hickory shells produce tones that explode with power and clarity. In this Series, the bass drum experience is as much about feeling it as hearing it. The naturally finished shell interiors and gloss exteriors really allow the intrinsic beauty of the wood to shine.”
The Gretsch Renown Purewood Limited Series come complete with chrome hardware, die-cast hoops, Evans drumheads and 30-degree shell bearing edges.
The new Gretsch Renown Purewood Hickory shell packs are available in very limited quantities at participating Gretsch Drums retailers.
