Gretsch Strengthens Snare Drum line up with New Brooklyn Metal Snares
January 01, 2012
Gretsch Drums is pleased to introduce the latest addition to their snare drum offering: the Brooklyn series metal snare drums. Gretsch Brooklyn series celebrates the legendary relationship between Gretsch drums and the city of Brooklyn, and the new Brooklyn Snares help celebrate the rejuvenated Brooklyn city passion and spirit.
The new Brooklyn snare drums serve to add another professional and distinctive voice to the Gretsch snare lineup. The Brooklyn Snare drums include a straight-sided chrome-over-brass shell (with Gretsch center knurl pattern) that is available in two sizes: 5x14 (8 lug) (GB4160) and 6.5x14 (10 lug) (GB4164). Also offered in the Brooklyn snare series is a hammered chrome over brass shell in 6.5x14 (10 lug) (GB4164HB). All shells include Gretsch “302” 3mm/double-flanged hoops, Lightning throw off and butt plate, “Snap-in” drum key holder, 20-strand snare wire and Gretsch Permatone drum heads. The brass shells resonate with classic, musical tones and are extremely versatile. The “302” hoops provide a timbre that is more open and ambient than traditional Gretsch die-cast hoops.
New from Gretsch® Drums, the Marquee series delivers explosive,
open tones, professional features and rock solid performance at
an accessible price. Marquee shells combine 7-ply North American
maple with a slight softer maple species that are cut with
classic Gretsch 30-degree bearing edges and fit with 2.3mm
triple flanged hoops.
