About the Artist
David Northrup's skill and talent as a busy touring musician is matched only by his long list of recording credits and work that he has done with a multitude of artists over varying genres. His versatile list includes work with Rock Legend John Waite, The James Brown Horns, John Mellencamp, Guitarist Les Dudek, and Jam Band Sensation The Disco Biscuits. Country Artists include Travis Tritt (2000-2009) Joe Diffie, Doug Stone, Tanya Tucker, Lee Greenwood, Jo De Messina, Jo-El Sonnier, Pam Tillis, Ty Herndon, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Lila McCann, and Anthony Smith. Northrup is also a busy studio musician and producer in the Nashville scene as well as an international clinician. He was featured in the June 2008 issue of Modern Drummer and has placed in the prestigious MD Readers Poll being voted number Two Country Drummer and number Two Clinician of the year in 2008 and 2009.Northrup’s Drum Clinics emphasize the importance of approaching the drum set musically. He demonstrates various styles and grooves, performing with tracks from Recordings he’s been featured on. From Country to New Orleans Funk Jazz to Original music from his up coming solo CD he discusses the importance of being a well rounded musician.
