PERFORMS WITH: Wild Child
About the ArtistDrew Brunetti began playing the drums when his parents bought him his first kit (a Gretsch Catalina Series) at the age of 13. After honing his skills in Houston clubs playing for numerous bands during his high school years, Drew studied music business at Loyola University in New Orleans.
Upon graduating, Drew moved to Austin to break into the live music mecca's thriving scene. Drew recorded an EP with Sugar Skull (a project he co-founded), played drums with The Canvas Waiting, toured in France, and became a hired gun for bands playing up and down Austin's storied 6th street. Drew joined the folk-rock band The Dalles in 2011. With The Dalles, Drew released an EP called My Own Private White House, shot a music video inside Austin's state capitol building (a first in Austin, and the performance has inspired an ongoing singer-songwriter concert series), and had music featured on FX's Sons Of Anarchy.
After The Dalles, Drew began playing drums for Walker Lukens & the Sidearms, a critically acclaimed Austin-based act, and recorded an EP with his other band, Big Wonder. Impressed with Drew's talent, Austin's top indie band, Wild Child, asked him to join. Drew now performs and records with Wild Child (who recently released their album The Runaround through The Noise Company, Ben Kweller's Warner Music-distributed label) and tours the country playing infectious folk-pop.
